“The importance and the process of empirical research; micro-level datasets in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, including the Life in Kyrgyzstan Panel Study.”
Guest lecturer: Dr. Damir Esenaliev
Senior Researcher at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). He is a development economist with experience in quantitative microeconomic research, survey methodology, and impact evaluation methods. He is one of the key researchers at the Life in Kyrgyzstan Study. His research interests are related to labour markets, inequality, intergenerational mobility, social cohesion, and rural development. Before joining SIPRI, he worked at DIW Berlin, the World Bank, and the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. He hold PhD degree in Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin; Master’s degree in Development Economics from Williams College (USA); and University Diploma in Informatics and Applied Mathematics from the Kyrgyz National
