October 16, 2018

October 17 is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. In this regard, on October 11, the World Bank  together with the Institute for Youth Development and the creative group SunHouse Team, conducted the intellectual game Quiz Night: “End Poverty”, in which 15  teams from 86 team-applicants were participated.

This game was designed to attract young people to the problems of poverty in the world and in Kyrgyzstan in particular. In our country, the situation with the problem of poverty is really deplorable, because 1.4% of the population lives in conditions of extreme poverty. Almost 20% of our citizens are in conditions of poverty (at the rate of 3.2 dollars per day for person).

During the game, there were many questions of a socio-economic nature. Participants vigorously discussed, argued and shared their ideas for fighting against poverty.

According to the results of three rounds, a team of lawyers from the Ala-Too International University which called “VVV” became the winners of the intellectual game, the second was the «IBF» team, and the «Antipoverty» team was third.
