Nuremberg Moot Court 2019

   The team from Ala-Too International University was funded by U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyz Republic and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section to participate in Nuremberg Moot Court 2019 competition in Nuremberg, Germany. Members of the team are: Nurlan uulu Erbolot, Dastan Aitbekov students of Law Department and Nuraiym Toktombaeva student of International Relations. The competition took place from 24 of July till 27 of July in Nuremberg Justice Palace, organized by International Nuremberg Academy Principles and Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Opening ceremony held on 24 of July in historical place - Memorium Nuremberg Trials Courtroom 600.

  The Nuremberg Moot Court invites participants from across the globe to argue a fictitious international criminal law case before the "International Criminal Court". Judges and organizers gave welcome speeches and introduced all teams from 5 continents - 60 countries. From 25 to 26 of July all teams participated in preliminary rounds and on 27 of July on quart finals, semifinals and final, representing Office of the Prosecution and Defense in front of the international judges and experts in international law. They competed with excellent teams from Georgia and Kenya. They submitted their arguments in front of bench regarding the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in the fictitious case of Mr. Vega. Finals were held between teams from Singapore and Palestine, where Singapore took first place.  After the award ceremony, the judges shared feedback with all the teams regarding both the written and the oral rounds. It was an invaluable experience for team from Ala-Too International University to participate in such a great competition and introduce Kyrgyzstan at the international arena and perform at that level with other countries.
