Participation in international and national competitions is becoming an increasingly important success factor for modern students. Successful participation in competitions demonstrates to students that they are able to overcome challenges, and confirms their desire for personal and professional development. Anara Mamyrkulova and Akbermet Urmatbekova, 4th–year students of the Department of International and Business Law of the Ala-Too International University prove that AIU opens the door to many opportunities.

Both students are participants of the 11th Justice P.N. Bhagwati International Moot Court Competition on Human Rights at Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College in Pune, India, as well as the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Electronic Justice: Problems and prospects in the digital age”. During the four-year training period, they have achieved many successes, which they will tell us about themselves.

Anara: Thanks to the university, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience that will be useful in my career

“Having become a part of the international community of the university, I discovered the world of professionals who strive for comprehensive development. During my studies, I took advantage of all the opportunities of the university, participating in various international scientific conferences on law, where I took the honorary 1st place, the International Student Competition FDI Moot Court, received the 2nd place in the competition of the International Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic (MTS CCI KR) on commercial arbitration.

In addition, I was lucky enough to visit India – a country with an incredibly beautiful culture. I like the unique teaching staff who are ready to help and share valuable knowledge. After graduation, I want to become a demanded specialist in the field of international law. In addition, the university is always ready to help its students and graduates with further implementation. I can say with confidence that thanks to my alma mater, I received the valuable knowledge and experience necessary in my career.”

Akbermet: An opportunity to prove yourself in the international arena

“My student years are quite busy, as I actively participate in international and national competitions. I acted as a speaker in the MTS CCI of the KR competition for commercial arbitration, where we took 2nd place among 15 teams, and also spoke at the Republican game trial “Let's protect from violence”. I am also a participant of AIFC COURT & ICC MOOT 2022 - Moot Court in Kazakhstan.

In addition, represented the AIU at various interuniversity scientific and practical conferences on criminal legislation of the KR, constitutional law, etc. Such activities contribute to the disclosure of the student's potential and prepare for the international labor market. At the moment I work as a meeting secretary at the MTS CCI of the KR, which gives me irreplaceable professional experience. My expectations were met, as I get everything that my profession requires – foreign languages, interactive lectures, and most importantly, teamwork on real projects. After graduation, I am planning to enroll in foreign universities for a master's degree and work in the judicial system. I want to thank the lecturers for their tireless work and patience!”
