International cooperation of Kyrgyz universities on the way to success

December 21, 2017

As part of the DAAD project "German-Kyrgyz Faculty of Applied Informatics", last week a delegation of the partner universities - Ala-Too International University (AIU) and the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture (KSUCTA) visited the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau, Germany).

The two universities agreed in August 2017 to jointly carry out the Master's Program in Computer Science. The project is funded by the DAAD in the program "Transnational Education" up to and including 2019. During their visit to Zwickau, the Kyrgyz guests discussed the organization and management of the joint master's program at the German-Kyrgyz Institute of Applied Informatics with the WHZ Department of Computer Science. Moreover, both parties agreed to plan the strategic implementation of the project.

The Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved the Master's program, which is designed for three years. This unusual period of study in Kyrgyzstan is due to the fact that the target group is the working population. In addition, the program is taught in English.

At the end of the meeting, the rector of the Ala-Too International University, Erdolatov S.S. handed memorable gifts and Kyrgyz national dress to the professor of the Western Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau-Carl Schwister.
