On November 25, 2022, “Ala-Too” International University hosted a presentation of a book on conducting investigative journalism based on open data in Kyrgyzstan, the authors of which are Elira Turdubayeva and Nargiza Nanakeeva. The presentation was attended by media representatives, students, lecturers of the journalism department and everyone interested.

During the event, well-known investigative journalists – Ali Toktakunov, Avlan Zhumabayev, Dilbar Alimova, Alexandra Li and Yrysbu Kylychbek kyzy spoke about the role of open data in Kyrgyz journalism, the history of world high-profile investigations and types of information resources. They also held a seminar on investigative journalism, where they demonstrated which online tools are used, and how to interpret them correctly.

         “Thanks to the information presented in this book, everyone has the opportunity to independently conduct journalistic investigations. We released it in the Kyrgyz language, as there was a great demand” said Nargiza Nanakeeva, the author of this textbook.
