On September 27, 2018 Dr. Maarten Smeets from World Trade Organization (WTO) and Dr. Muhtar Dzhumaliev, ex-ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the USA visited our university.  Primarily, staff of Economics Department had discussion on international trade related topics and WTO. Afterwards, the students of “Finance and credit”, “World Economy” and “Management” profiles had a chance to discuss closer the mentioned-above topics with the quests.

  Dr. Maarten Smeets heads the Technical Assistance Coordination, Partnerships and Internship Programmes Section at the Institute for Training and Technical Co-operation (ITTC) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva. He is responsible for designing WTO's trade capacity building programmes and coordinating their implementation. He manages WTO's main Intern Training Programmes, bringing some 40 high level government officials to the WTO in Geneva, every year.
