On April 20-21, the II Ala-Too Moot Court Competition on human rights took place in our university which gathered students from leading universities of Bishkek city.

  The Moot- Court Competition is a popular event around the world which is held between law students. The main objective of this competition is the application of acquired knowledge in the field of public international law, as well as human rights law into practice.

  The competition was attended by 8 teams, our university was represented by teams of 2 and 3 courses.

  The competition consisted of two preliminary rounds, a semi-final and a final. Throughout all stages, students clearly defended their position and presented strong arguments, speaking both on the behalf of the defendant and the plaintiff. The preliminary, semi-final and final rounds of the hearings were evaluated by specially invited judges, who are true professionals in their field.

  The second year students of the International University Ala-Too – Elmira Usenova and Nursultan Temikeev became the winners of the II Ala-Too Moot-Court Competition. In spite of their first experience of participation in educational court processes, they showed deep knowledge in the field of public international law, as well as the ability to defend their point of view. Usenova Elmira also won in the nomination as the “Best Speaker” on the basis of all rounds. The team representing the 3 course, Dastan Aitbekov and Nurlan u. Erbolot, received the award for the “Best Memorandum”.
